XIAOMI MI 4 WILL SOON GET ANDROID 6.0 UPDATE

Xiaomi's smartphones have become widely popular in the Asian continent, mainly in regions like China and India. The company's feature rich budget handsets have played a big part in this.
But if there's one area where the company lags behind, it's with regards to update rollouts. This is because Xiaomi uses a heavily skinned version of Android, which means it takes slightly longer than usual to develop the ROM.
The company however seems to be changing that strategy now with updates looking to be sent out much quicker. Xiaomi has just announced that its Mi 4 and the Mi Note handsets will receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow very soon. The word comes directly from the company, so it's not mere speculation at this point.
Xiaomi has further mentioned that the MIUI version will not change and will remain at MIUI 7, so there might not be any massive new UI changes on board, but expect there to be a handful of stock Android related changes.
The information was provided by the company's operations manager on social media site Weibo, where he also mentioned that the update will be available in a closed beta soon with a wider rollout commencing subsequently.
So if you own a Mi Note or a Mi 4 smartphone, the wait shouldn't be too long now.
